Web Desk: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced changes to the semi-final schedule for the ongoing T20 World Cup.
According to the updated arrangements, if Sri Lanka qualifies for the semi-finals, the first semi-final will be held in Colombo, regardless of whether their opponent is India or another team.
The ICC issued an official statement to all stakeholders following the completion of the Super Eight stage, providing clarity on semi-final venues. The statement noted that the first semi-final could take place in either Colombo or Kolkata, depending on certain qualifying scenarios.
Specifically, the ICC confirmed that if Pakistan reaches the semi-finals, they will play Semi-Final 1 in Colombo on March 4. The revised schedule aims to streamline planning for teams, broadcasters, and fans ahead of the crucial knockout matches.
