Web Desk: Maryam Nawaz has announced a new wheat procurement initiative in Punjab, setting the price for farmers at Rs 3,500 per 40 kilograms.
The policy aims to purchase 30 lakh metric tons of wheat from local farmers to strengthen the province’s strategic reserves.
Maryam Nawaz shared the details on social media platform X, highlighting that Punjab has become the first province to implement a public-private partnership model for wheat procurement.
Under this initiative, the government intends to ensure fair prices for farmers while securing the province’s wheat stockpile to meet future food requirements. The move is expected to provide financial relief to farmers and stabilize the wheat supply chain across the region.
